Assignment 1b - Summary

The Lamborghini Huracán STO (Super Trofeo Omologata) is a high-performance track-oriented super sports car in the 2021 Huracán variant model that comes equipped with an advanced braking system that ensures optimal and stopping power. Its braking system uses the new Brembo carbon-ceramic material-racing (CCM-R) system that is used in the F1 racing technology to provide superior durability compared to the traditional carbon-ceramic brakes (CCB) used in other high-performance cars. The Brembo CCM-R disc provides four times the thermal conductivity and a 60% higher stress resistance. The maximum braking power gives a 25% improvement in braking force compared with traditional CCB and a 7% improvement in longitudinal deceleration. With disc dimensions of 390mm together with six-piston calipers, and 360mm together with four-piston calipers installed at the front and rear wheel respectively, it provides a remarkable braking distance of 30 meters at the speed of 100km/h to 0 km/h on track. The Huracán's braking systems also have a new front cooling duct designed to cool off the discs and calipers of the brake systems during intense track sessions and provide a consistent performance. With such braking technology in the Huracán, it truly allows drivers to experience a track-built automobile on a road that provides great comfort and confidence in knowing that the car will brake swiftly and effectively at high speed without any issues or loss in performance.
